Notice on the Protection of Personal Data
This notice sets out the key information on the protection of personal data processed by AKÇA KONTRPLAK FABRİKASI SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş. (AKÇA PLYWOOD). In order to fulfil its duty to inform under Article 10 of Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), AKÇA PLYWOOD presents the following information to its customers, third parties using its website, employees and visitors. Under Article 5(2) of the KVKK, the company may process your personal data without explicit consent where processing is expressly provided for by law; is necessary to protect the life or physical integrity of a person who is unable to give consent; is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract; is necessary for the data controller to comply with a legal obligation; concerns data made public by the data subject; is necessary to establish, exercise or protect a right; or is necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject.

Article 4: How Is Your Personal Data Protected?

Article 5: Is Your Personal Data Shared?
Customers’ personal data is not shared with third parties other than the parent companies of which the company is a dealer; any sharing takes place with the customer’s permission, and as a rule personal data is not transferred to third parties without the customer’s consent.
However, personal data is shared with courts and other public authorities as required by, and limited to, our legal obligations.
Necessary technical and legal measures are taken to prevent violations during transfers to third parties. The company is not responsible for breaches arising from the data protection policies of third parties receiving personal data or occurring within their area of responsibility.

Information you submit through the contact and job application forms on our website is forwarded by e-mail to the relevant department solely to respond to your request and to conduct recruitment processes; it is not stored in a database on the web server. Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies that track visitors; it only uses a functional cookie (akca_lang), containing no personal data, to remember your chosen site language. The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps; Google may use cookies for this service under its own privacy policy.
CCTV Monitoring
The company carries out security camera monitoring at its buildings and facilities in accordance with the Law on Private Security Services and the KVKK. Data subjects are informed through this notice and through signs posted at the entrances of monitored areas. Monitoring is limited to what is necessary for security; areas where privacy would be infringed beyond security needs (e.g. toilets) are not monitored. Necessary technical and administrative measures are taken to secure recordings, which are accessible only to a limited number of authorised employees bound by confidentiality undertakings.
