01About us
Half a century of experience, modern production technology
Our Chairman Mr. Cezmi Akça entered the timber trade in 1976 and laid the foundations of the Akça Plywood factory in Çorum in 1997. Having started plywood production in 1998, our factory became a trusted and sought-after brand by processing first-class materials with advanced technology and skilled craftsmanship — never compromising on quality.
With half a century of experience, we are one of the driving forces of the industry and continue to increase our production capacity every year to serve domestic and international markets. Our products are used primarily in construction, as well as in automotive, marine and many other sectors.
We use domestic logs such as beech and pine from Türkiye’s forests, as well as imported species including birch, okoume, ozigo and tetra.

How to choose the right plywood
Answering these five questions before ordering will help you get the right product:
- 01Where will it be used? (formwork, flooring, furniture, boats, lining)
- 02Will it be exposed to water or moisture? (WBP / MR glue)
- 03How much load will it carry? (thickness and species)
- 04Will the surface be visible? (face grade, film or natural veneer)
- 05What size and quantity? (standard or custom size)

Weights are calculated for an unfilmed 2500 × 1250 mm sheet using average densities. 2440 × 1220 mm sheets are about 5% lighter; film faced panels add roughly 0.8–1.1 kg of film. Ply counts are typical for birch plywood; pine and poplar core products have fewer plies.
Density by wood species
| Species | Density | 18 mm sheet | 18 mm · 1 m² |
|---|---|---|---|
| Birch | 640–760 kg/m³ | 39 kg | 12.6 kg |
| Beech | 700–800 kg/m³ | 42 kg | 13.3 kg |
| Pine | 550–660 kg/m³ | 34 kg | 10.8 kg |
| Poplar | 420–520 kg/m³ | 27 kg | 8.5 kg |
Values refer to unfilmed plywood at 8–12% moisture content. Sources: manufacturer datasheets (e.g. WISA birch plywood 680 ± 50 kg/m³) and PEFC’s reference density table for wood species and wood-based panels.
Weight calculation
Weight (kg) = length (m) × width (m) × thickness (m) × density (kg/m³)
Example: 2.5 × 1.25 × 0.018 × 700 = 39.4 kg (18 mm birch sheet)
