C-PLY
Birch film faced formwork plywood
Construction
Birch and pine core, WBP bonded, phenolic film faced plywood for concrete formwork systems — manufactured at our factory in Çorum, Turkey.
01Film Faced Formwork Plywood
Film faced plywood (also called formwork plywood, shuttering plywood, concrete plywood or phenolic plywood) is plywood bonded with weather and boil proof WBP glue and overlaid on both faces with phenolic resin impregnated film. The smooth film face reduces concrete adhesion, leaves a clean concrete surface after striking and allows the panel to be reused many times.

Akça Plywood manufactures four film faced formwork panels: C-PLY made entirely of birch, and the pine core VTH, GALERAS and F-PLY. The most popular thicknesses are 18 mm and 21 mm, in standard sizes of 2500 × 1250 mm and 2440 × 1220 mm (4 × 8 ft), and we also produce 3000 × 1500 mm and 3000 × 1250 mm panels. Panels are supplied with black, brown or dark brown film and edges sealed with acrylic waterproof paint.
Our formwork plywood is used in residential construction, bridges, tunnels, shear walls and infrastructure projects, and is shipped by truck from Turkey to customers at home and abroad.
13–15 ply birch for maximum strength and reuse; 7–15 ply pine for cost-driven projects.
Weather and boil proof bonding keeps the plies together in rain and wet concrete.
Film on both faces reduces concrete adhesion and extends panel life.
Acrylic waterproof edge paint slows moisture uptake through cut edges.

04Frequently asked questions
Film faced plywood is used mainly for concrete formwork — walls, slabs, columns, bridges and tunnels. The phenolic film reduces concrete adhesion and gives a smooth concrete finish, while WBP glue keeps the panel stable in wet conditions.
18 mm is the most common thickness for formwork plywood; 21 mm is preferred for higher concrete pressure and wider spans between supports. The right thickness depends on your formwork system and support spacing — our sales team can advise.
Birch plywood is denser and has more plies (13 plies at 18 mm), giving higher load capacity and more reuses. Pine core formwork plywood is lighter and more economical. GALERAS (13–15 plies), VTH (9–11) and F-PLY (7–9) cover different budgets and strength needs.
The number of reuses depends on film weight, wood species, use of release agent, edge protection and handling on site. Birch core panels with sealed edges, handled correctly, withstand more cycles than pine core panels.
Price depends on thickness, species (birch or pine), number of plies, film colour and weight, size, order quantity and delivery location. Send us the product, thickness and quantity through the quote form for a current offer.
